Parveen Akhtar – Strategic Lead
Parveen is the Strategic Lead for BDAAT with overall accountability for BDAAT’s business portfolio and adult substance misuse funding streams. Parveen is also responsible for taking forward the strategic direction of BDAAT working across the partnership structures to ensure that the National Drug Strategy is delivered at a local level

Barry Eveleigh– Lead Commissioner for Drug Treatment Services
Barry is responsible for the commissioning of adult drug treatment services and co-ordinating the completition of the yearly Treatment Plan which outlines the objectives for BDAAT to work towards. This also includes joint working with the Lead Commissioner for Young People to ensure effective transfers from young people’s treatment service to adult treatment services.

Max Vaughan – Alcohol Co-ordination & Commissioning Manager
Max is responsible for the commissioning of alcohol treatment services for both young people and adults in Birmingham. Max is also involved in coordinating the Cities responses to alcohol related crime and disorder. |

Mark Southall – Single Point of Contact Manager (SPoC)
Mark’s team provides a central point for all referrals into substance misuse services in Birmingham. Referrals are screened and forwarded to the appropriate team. Outcomes from positive drug tests are tracked and
actioned appropriately. The SPoC also has a widely advertised 0800 number, callers can get information about drug and alcohol treatment services in the Birmingham area and can also be referred into treatment.

Mike Quinn – DIP Project Manager
Mike is responsible for the commissioning and management of Birmingham’s Drug Interventions Programme (DIP), and also has commissioning responsibility on behalf of BDAAT for the Integrated Drug Treatment Service (IDTS) at Birmingham Prison. Mike is also responsible for the commissioning of the new Tier 4 service on behalf of BDAAT and undertakes project management for BDAAT in relation to property and capital projects.

Liz Smith – DIP Programme Manager
Liz has responsibility for the commissioning and management of Birmingham’s Drug Interventions Programme (DIP) and also has commissioning responsibility on behalf of BDAAT for the Integrated Drug Treatment System (IDTS) at Birmingham Prison.

Mary Latter – Performance & Improvement Manager
The main focus of Mary’s role is ensuring that there are robust Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in place for all the services commissioned on behalf of the partnership. This means the monitoring and management reporting of
performance, the development and implementation of systems and processes for contract development, compliance, monitoring and review.

Angela is responsible for producing and implementing the Training and Workforce Development Strategy by managing the investment in training and other workforce development initiatives.

Ellen Nowell – Finance Manager
Ellen provides lead financial management support to BDAAT including the development of budgets in line with annual treatment plans and funding allocations, development of financial models and BDAAT financial strategy to identify impact of drug and alcohol related services in future years and produce robust financial reporting to inform management team and
stakeholders.

Kevin is responsible for the commissioning and future development of substance misuse services through community pharmacies across Birmingham.

Nigel Modern – Lead GP
Nigel’s main responsibility is to advise BDAAT on clinical related issues as well as governing platforms to continually improve the level of care received by service users.

Robin Thompson – Lead Commissioner for Young People
Robin is responsible for the commissioning of treatment services for young people and this includes prevention and educational services. This also includes joint working with the Lead Commissioner for Drug Treatment Services to ensure effective transfer from young peoples treatment services to adult treatment services.
